Together Alone

Crowded House’s “Together Alone” from 1993 remains the Antipodean musical institution’s most challenging and esoteric work, taking in previously unexplored musical accents like indigenous Polynesian chanting, quasi-ambient patterns, freeform log drumming and Celtic folk. A more ominous and atmospheric ambience is also prevalent on this landmark record, which would be the band’s last album until their reformation this year.
