Low Life

Roland Orzabal might not have enjoyed the same degree of commercial success during his solo jaunt, compared to his time with 1980s mainstays Tears for Fears, but he still proves that he can write accessible, if somewhat leffield pop tunes that could have done better on the charts if given the right attention. One of these songs is 2001's "Low Life", a superior slice of vintage synth-driven pop, complete with archetypal lyrics about the evil ways of the world. Check out the rather bizarre, disjointedly narrated video clip.
